Practical

Small things that make the trip easier.

Carry cash in small notes; many souk stalls and taxis don’t take cards.

Agree the taxi fare (or insist on the meter) before you get in.

Bargaining is expected in the souks — start at around a third and settle pleasantly.

Dress modestly in the medina; shoulders and knees covered is a good rule.
